PANDA EXPLOSION!
During our visit to the Chengdu panda base, we got to see both giant pandas (xióng māo, 熊貓), and red pandas. The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is one of the top panda research and breeding centers in China. Much of our time was spent near an exhibit called “Panda Kindergarden,” where cubs live once they get out of the nursery.
The cub in the picture was definitely more active than his sleepy mom - he kept climbing on top of her, biting her ears and batting her face to try and get her to play with them!
